Ekaterina Kuzina

Since her teenage years, Ekaterina has always been fascinated by culture and cross-national encounters. This resulted in her choice of an academic field and, ultimately, in her career path. She studied intercultural communication in Russia and international relations in France, Germany and Turkey. Having started her career with the organisation of such international fora as the G8 Summit in Saint-Petersburg, Ekaterina later joined UNESCO where she worked in the field of education and communication. She enlarged her professional scope by entering sports administration in 2012 when she started working for the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee as a senior manager in IOC/IPC services division. This life-changing experience brought her to the International Paralympic Committee where Ekaterina currently works in the Protocol, Hospitality and Events department. It has always been her ambition to combine her expertise in event and project management with her passion for intercultural communication. From contributing to Council of Europe projects on intercultural dialogue to organising a cultural programme for the VIP guests during the Sochi 2014 Games – Ekaterina was tailoring her career path this way. Looking into the future, her friend, Maria Trofimova and Ekaterina are planning to launch an educational start-up that will combine event/hospitality training with intercultural coaching.
