Bernie Quinn

Bernie Quinn is a former chef/hotelier who entered academia in 2003. A passionate educator in Hospitality & Tourism, Business, Food and Drink in 2013 he also conceptualised, designed and led the UK’s first MSc in Gastronomy.

Prior to this he was the Programme Leader for BA (Hons) International Hospitality & Tourism Management for 5 years, led Scotland’s first commercial student food festival in Edinburgh (Feast) and co-designed a new BA Culinary Arts programme delivered in India. This programme was also later modified for delivery in culinary institutions in Greece.

In recent years Bernie has been the international academic lead for the Division’s trans-national educational partnership activities and has extensive experience of working in Hotel schools and Business schools in Switzerland, Greece, Prague, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Singapore. He has designed and validated under-graduate and post-graduate programmes across many of these aforesaid countries and has interviewed in-country staff to deliver these whilst providing them with training, mentoring and yearly personal development opportunities.

He is presently external examiner for Culinary Arts programmes for University of West London (UWL).
