Maria Trofimova

Maria Trofimova is a former Master student of HTMi Switzerland and is currently working with IQ Protocol team that consists of experienced professionals in protocol and organisational support of high-profile events.

Maria successfully graduated from her Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2015 after one year of studying at HTMi. Afterwards, she kept developing herself as a protocol and hospitality professional at IQ Protocol. She dedicated two and a half years to VIP/VVIP Guest Management at 2018 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee Protocol Department. Currently, Maria and her team are preparing for the opening as well as closing ceremonies protocols of the XXIX Winter Universiade of 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. In addition to this, the team is also in charge of arranging the agreement signing ceremonies and overall protocol support during major business events such as Eastern Economic forum and many more.

However, prior to entering the hospitality and events industry in a proficient manner, Maria devoted a part of her life to professional sports as a modern pentathlon. After finishing her athlete’s career, she chose to combine her professional life with sports and became a part of Modern Pentathlon Federation of Russia as an assistant to secretary general.

All athletes share the same dream, to participate in or even win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. Since Maria could not accomplish her dream she found an opportunity to join sports administration and worked for more than six years at Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee as Head of Olympic and Paralympic Family services. Hence, she obtained a chance to join numerous of grand sports events, such as Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and London 2012, as an observer and secondee.
